February 12–14, 2026 — Tasikmalaya, West Java, Indonesia
The Pioneer Language Center (PLC), the language development unit under Yayasan Pionir Pendidikan Indonesia (YPPI), continues to extend its expertise in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) beyond its home network. From February 12 to 14, 2026, PLC conducted a CLIL Observation & Training program at SD and SMP Al Muttaqin in Tasikmalaya, West Java, at the invitation of Lembaga Pendidikan Islam (LPI) Al Muttaqin.
This program is part of an ongoing partnership between PLC and LPI Al Muttaqin. Previously, PLC helped initiate CLIL implementation at the school through foundational training sessions. This latest engagement focused on monitoring and continued development — observing how CLIL is being applied in actual classrooms, then providing targeted training to elevate its quality.
Led by two experienced PLC observers and trainers — Satonah (Director of PLC) and Ika Mayliana (Head of International Program, PLC) — the program engaged 6 primary school teachers, 5 junior high school teachers, and approximately 10 representatives from Al Muttaqin’s school management and foundation leadership, totaling around 21 participants.
Day One — CLIL Classroom Observation at SD Al Muttaqin
On the first day, Satonah and Ika conducted live classroom observations at the primary school level, where CLIL has been actively implemented. The focus was on how teachers integrate subject content with English language development within a single lesson. School management and foundation representatives also attended the observation sessions.
“We were glad to show how CLIL makes our students more engaged and enthusiastic about learning. With this approach, they don’t just master the content — they also become comfortable using English naturally in every classroom activity.”

Day Two — CLIL Classroom Observation at SMP Al Muttaqin
The program continued with observations in Grade 7 classrooms covering Mathematics, Science, and English. Teachers demonstrated how CLIL is applied across multiple subjects, showcasing the versatility and adaptability of the approach across different academic disciplines. “Through CLIL, students become more confident in asking questions and attempting answers in English. This approach helps them understand subject concepts while actively practicing their language skills.”

Day Three — Intensive Training and Collaborative Reflection
The program concluded with an intensive training session on CLIL-based classroom management strategies, followed by an in-depth reflection on the observation findings from the previous two days. All participants — primary and junior high school teachers, as well as school management and foundation representatives — were actively involved in the discussions. Guided by Satonah and Ika Mayliana, participants gained actionable strategies for immediate implementation along with constructive feedback from the classroom observations.
“The training materials were highly practical and helped us understand how to manage a CLIL classroom more effectively. The group reflection session also gave us greater confidence to implement this approach in our own classrooms.”

Impact and Forward Commitment
This program enriched the pedagogical expertise of Al Muttaqin’s teaching staff while affirming PLC’s role as a strategic partner in bilingual education development beyond the Sekolah Islam Terpadu LHI (SIT LHI) Yogyakarta network.
As the language development center under YPPI, PLC is responsible not only for CLIL implementation and English proficiency development across SIT LHI, but also extends its expertise to partner schools seeking to build high-quality bilingual learning environments.
The success of this program at Al Muttaqin Tasikmalaya stands as tangible proof that PLC’s CLIL expertise is trusted and delivers meaningful impact for schools beyond the SIT LHI network.
