In this program, LHI High School students<br>volunteered to help flood victims in Aceh and Sumatra.<br><br>During the program, the students planned all activities independently, including funding,<br>transportation, scheduling, and other needs, with only minimal assistance from parents and<br>teachers. They also collaborated with humanitarian organizations such as Lazis and Human<br>Initiative (HI).<br>The program began with a student meeting to decide the activities that would be carried out<br>at the disaster site. After that, several students and teachers met with a representative from<br>Human Initiative to discuss the preparation and objectives of the Nusantara Journey.<br>On Friday morning, LHI High School students held a discussion with Lazis Pioneer LHI to<br>prepare for the Nusantara Journey program. During this session, the students received<br>materials from the speakers. The first speaker explained the conditions at the disaster area<br>to ensure that the students would not be shocked when they arrived. He also showed<br>several videos about the situation there.<br>The second speaker explained the supplies and needs required at the disaster site. The last<br>speaker shared his personal journey and experiences while carrying out humanitarian<br>programs in the disaster area.<br>Besides providing social assistance, the students also shared the academic and religious<br>knowledge they had learned at school with the local community. The following week, a team<br>from Lazis visited the students to explain in more detail the real conditions and the needs of<br>the victims, as they had already surveyed the location.<br><br>Through the Nusantara Journey program, the students gained valuable experiences in<br>helping others and learned the importance of teamwork, empathy, and responsibility.
